Mbilike  M. Mwafulirwa 

Mbilike (pronounced “Bee” “Lee” “Kay”) is a litigation partner at Coffey Senger Hancock Harmon whose practice focuses on complex civil litigation, appellate law in federal and state courts, and autonomous technology law. His expertise spans business disputes, product liability, insurance law, civil rights claims, First Amendment-defamation and anti-SLAPP law, and autonomous systems regulation.

Mbilike holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV-Preeminent Rating in Civil Litigation, representing the highest peer review rating given by this independent third-party rating service. This rating, according Martindale-Hubbell, signifies that attorneys and judges consider a lawyer to be at the highest level of professional excellence for legal ability and ethical standards. Mbilike’s peers have also voted him for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America and Oklahoma Super Lawyers Rising Star publications. The National Black Lawyers named him among their Top 40 under 40, and the University of Tulsa College of Law selected him as its Outstanding Junior Alumnus in 2022. Mbilike is a recent recipient of the Tulsa County Bar Association’s President’s Award for his contributions to the legal profession in Tulsa County. He has also received the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Golden Quill Award, one of the Oklahoma Bar’s highest intellectual awards.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court appointed Mbilike as an Associate Bar Examiner (2019-2021), where he drafted and graded the Oklahoma Bar exam. He has served for several years on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Legal Ethics Advisory Panel, which addresses complex ethical issues facing the legal profession and provides guidance to Oklahoma attorneys on challenging questions of professional responsibility. In recognition of his expertise in First Amendment and anti-SLAPP litigation, Mbilike was recently selected to join The SLAPPs Research Group, an independent organization of leading scholars from the United States and the world-over dedicated to providing balanced and informed perspectives on strategic litigation against public participation (SLAPPs) and anti-SLAPP reform. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR) also recently appointed Mbilike to a four-year term on the Oklahoma State Advisory Committee. Additionally, the University of Tulsa College of Law has appointed Mbilike an adjunct professor to teach in the emerging field of artificial intelligence and the law. He speaks at national conferences and Fortune 500 companies on artificial intelligence technology and its intersection with tort law, constitutional law, and liability frameworks.

His litigation experience includes representations before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits, Oklahoma Supreme Court, and various state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Mbilike earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, an LL.M. in U.S. Law, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wales (U.K.). He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and all Oklahoma state and federal courts. He serves as Co-Chair of the Tulsa County Bar Association’s Litigation Section and as a Master of the Bar and Social Chair for the Hudson-Hall-Wheaton American Inns of Court.
